This context make Google’s act an interesting question, but am sure there is lot to think – why & what made Google Team think so.

When we look at the overall picture of Orkut – every aspect looks lucrative but when we explore further its clear why Google did so. Mainly you can classify their reasoning & findings for this move into two broad headings for ease of understanding

1. Limitations of Current Portal:

The Orkut portal though had lot of applications & features, but certainly lacked the business lustre. Banner & display ads were the only promotional options available for business entities. Till date “Facebook” was the largest player in social media market & today it faces similar threat which Yahoo faced way back in 1998 from Google Inc. 1. Login to Facebook with your Facebook username and password.
2. Go to the Group Main Page which you want to delete.
3. Click on “Edit Group” option on the right side of your Group Home Page
4. Navigate to “Members” tab featuring on the left side on newly opened window
5. Delete all the members from the Group by clicking the “x” mark next to their name.
6. Navigate to “View Admins” & delete all other Admins except you.
7. Once all other members & admin are removed, remove yourself
8. Now Facebook will give you a prompt saying that if you leave, this group will have no members and will close.
9. Accept it & press okay or accept button.
10. Since there are no members, this group will be closed & will not feature in search anymore.

Recently we identified a problem while working with our Facebook Fan Page. The updates from our corporate page were neither featuring nor not getting published on the individual FB wall of our fans who “like” our page. Most of us are facing this issue, but due to over-crowding updates from friends & communities, the fan page updates are normally ignored.  After a bit of Googling & Facebook forums read through we cracked this issue. You can fix this issue using following process.

1. Open Facebook & login to your Facebook account
2. By default you will be landing on the “WALL” section of your FB Account, if not move to “Wall” option.
3. In you “Wall” page, towards the right-corner of  “Wall Heading” locate the below options
   
4. Click on the “Most Recent” Option
5. Click on the “Drop Down” featuring next to “Most Recent”
   
6. Navigate to the last option available “Edit Option” on the drop down menu
   
7. A new window opens up as in the below image
   
8. Select the option “All your friends & pages” from the drop down as shown in the below image
   
9. Select the option & Click Save Button
   
10. Repeat the steps and confirm, that your “Wall” display option is as in the below image
    
11. Confirm whether the posts / updates from your liked pages started featuring or not.

Over the past few months, we have moved most of our VPS business over to New DC (data center). In addition, we have moved some of the H-Sphere Servers. Starting next week and coming weeks, we are ready to migrate all the remaining H-Sphere Servers to this new facility which will put you’re hosting on fast track with brand-new servers and upgraded plan resources. With these changes Windows 2008 and MS SQL 2008 are available now for all new accounts.

This move does bring about some additional changes as we are utilizing a direct IP allocation from ARIN and this will require Customers and Resellers to change their IP addresses. Those who are using our DNS servers and services, IPs will be changed automatically. Anyone using custom name servers for themselves will be required to update the IPs that their name servers are pointing to, we will provide these IP addresses in a follow-up email to all resellers.
